What makes a good domain name?

Opinions on this differ, but here are some general guidelines.

• Easy to recite. Ideally the url won't require further explanation when it's spoken. Avoiding funky phonetics can help here. People are likely to assume and remember standard spellings when they hear your address, so extra explanation might be required if you've registered electronikzs.com instead of electronics.com.
• Short. Keep in mind that people may have to type your URL in full. Keeping it short will make this as painless as possible.
