Museum Gadget

An imaginary interface for a futuristic hologram viewer

Development Period: December 2007.
Coded With: HTML and ActionScript.
Tools Used: Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop and Sony Sound Forge.
Tagged As: Postgraduate, Video and Web.

About

This Flash-based interface represents a 3D hologram viewer of the type that might be available to a museum of technology in 2020. It shows hologram-style visualisations of various electrical components, and allows their rotation, X, Y and Z positions to be manipulated.

Technical Details

The 3D holograms were rendered as SWFs using Maya's vector renderer. Because the clips are vector-based, the gadget can show them at any size without pixellation, and the file sizes are fairly small. Transparency is also supported.
